Samsung recently announced their Samsung A8 line, and people are excited. A more affordable version of the S series, the A series has stepped up its game and now has the look and feel of the S. This is the perfect phone for both the savvy shopper and first-time smartphone users alike. Let’s take a closer look:
The Samsung Galaxy A8 comes in 4 colors (Black, Orchid Gray, Gold, and Blue). It has a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM. The phone is loaded with 32GB of internal storage, and can be expanded up to 256GB with a microSD card. The A8 has a 5.6 inch AMOLED display, and the A8 Plus is a bit larger at 6 inches.
Unusually, both the front and back camera offer an equal quality photograph with a 16-megapixel camera. And even more unusually, the dual camera is located on the front of the phone rather than the back, giving you the option to snap amazing selfies with the 16MP+8MP F1.9Dual Front Camera. The camera also allows for Live Focus, which means you can get photos where the background is blurry with the subject in focus--both before and after the photo has been shot. Both cameras hold up really well in low light, and take great photos no matter what time of day.
While Apple’s iPhone X created huge waves by introducing Face Recognition last year, the A8 quietly offers both a fingerprint scanner AND face recognition to unlock the phone. The A8 need not fear any waves, however, for it is water resistant with test conditions of submersion up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes!
At the end of the day, the A8 is a fantastic phone and an exciting new addition to the Samsung family. Don’t let your new A8 go unprotected! Get a case for it here.
