It comes as no surprise that the Samsung Unpacked event for the Note8 gave an incredible display of the new device and all of its advanced capabilities. The event took place in New York, but viewers from all over the world were tuning in for the grand revealing of the Note8.
Samsung Mobile President, DJ Koh, took the stage once again to kick off the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event. With the new Samsung Galaxy Note8 in hand, he talked about how large screen phones are the fastest growing segment in the smartphone market. In terms of the design, the Galaxy Note8 is quite similar to the S8 and S8 Plus. The Note8 however has a 6.3-inche QHD screen, the largest screen on a Galaxy Note Phone.
The Director of Product Strategy at Samsung also made an appearance at this year's Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. She talked about the Note8's dual camera and gave demonstrations on the new features; live focus, dual capture, among others. The two 12-megapixel cameras on the back feature 1 dual pixel primary wide angle sensor with f/1.7 aperture and OiS, and the secondary telephoto lens with f/1.4 aperture and OIS. Both cameras are complemented by an 8-megapixel autofocus front camera.
Another key part of the Unpacked event was revealing the Note series signature accessory, the S Pen. The S Pen on the Note8 has a finer tip, better pressure sensitivity and features such as animated tests and gifs. It can even be used as a language translator to translate written content. As for the Note you get 64/128/256GB storage options with microSD card supports, 6GB RAM, Android 7.1.1 Nougat software, 3300mAh battery, water-resistant body, and octave-core processor in two configurations.
