Is the Huawei P20 Camera Good Enough?

The Huawei P20 Camera Reviews are in, and *drumroll please* this camera shines bright among the competition! It scored a whopping 102 in the DxO Mark Mobile reference for image quality (beating the Samsung Galaxy S9’s score by 3 points). Let’s take a closer look:

The Basics: The Huawei P20, like its competitors, has a rear dual-camera. The main camera has a 12MP 1/2.3” RGB sensor, an f/1.8 aperture lens and a 27mm equivalent focal length. The second camera has a 20MP 1/2.78” monochrome sensor, f/1.6 aperture lens and  a 27mm equivalent focal length. Photos taken with the camera look great on the 5.8” display and 2240x1080 resolution screen!

Lighting: The camera does great in bright light, showing stark contrasts and fine details easily. It also does pretty well in low light, leaving low levels of noise even in very dim light. The autofocus works just as quickly in low light as it does in bright light, making this an optimal camera for shooting events in low light situation.

Color: The Huawei P20 camera captures vivid colors, with an auto-white balance that helps keep photographs as close to what your eyes see as possible. Of course in low lighting, the color accuracy decreases a bit, but it holds up decently against competitors.

Autofocus: Don’t you hate when you’re waiting for your phone to focus before you can take the perfect shot, and then you miss the moment? With the Huawei P20, you don’t have to worry about that. The autofocus is the best that DxO Mark has EVER tested.
