Huawei P10 Review

Huawei has consistently been making great phones for years now, and the Huawei P10 is nothing short of that. The P10 is a more refined device than its predecessors with the return of the Leica-branded dual camera set up on the rear of the device and the shift of the fingerprint sensor to the front.

Let’s break down the flagship device and see what it's workin’ with!

Design

The body of the P10 is all metal and glass chassis and a focus on super-slim design. Flip the device over to find the Leica 2 dual-sensor camera setup, and the two-in-one dual-SIM and microSD slot sitting on the left side. Above the finger print sensor on the front of the phone is a 5.1in full HD 1080p display, single speaker, and forward-facing 8Mpnsapper for unlimited selfies and video chatting.

The P10 doesn’t offer an infinity screen like the Galaxy S8 range, nor is it bezel-less, but remains quite thin at 6.98mm thick. The P10 measure up at 145.3mm x 69.3 mm x 6.98mm and weighs 145 grams, making it thinner and lighter than all of its main competitors like the LG G6, S8, and Sony Xperia XZ.

Display

the 5.1in Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels, 432 PPI), which, despite not matching up to the Quad HD resolutions of some competitors, has a bright, vibrant image on screen.

If you go for the larger handset, the P10 Plus, the resolution steps up to 1440p on the 5.5in display.

Camera

The dual camera setup is a system that uses a 20MP monochromatic sensor (to capture the black and white elements of a shot) and a 10MP RGB sensor. The result is an image that's a composite of the two sensors, in theory, bringing the best of both sensors to the final shot. The camera is a big selling point for those who have chosen the P10 to be their next device.

Hardware

The device has a 3,200mAh battery with a Kirin 960 Octa-Core chipset. Switching between apps doesn’t leave you waiting for a response. Given the P10’s hardware, the phone functions in a speedy manner.

Storage

The Huawei P10 has 4GB of RAM and 64GM of onboard storage, but this can be expanded using the microSD in the multi-function SIM slot.
